When Your Girlie Gets Your Camera…

…play along!

The other day I got an unexpected reminder of how important it is to take time for the important things.

Things like trying on costume jewelry and admiring lacy shirts.

My three year old, Little Miss Colonel, got my camera as I was getting ready for the Inland Northwest Christian Writers Conference.

She picked my necklace.

Made me paint our toenails.

Took pictures of her feet while I was putting on my make up then got me to take pictures of both our feet.

I would have gone with boots and ratty toe nails if it weren’t for her.

Then we had to paint her fingers too and pose them on the sparkly tile mosaic in the entry way.

Who knew nail polish and camera could be so fun? That we could make such memories?

Just look at those dimpled fingers.

Edible!

And then, she turned the camera on me.

I’m laughing at how she’d turned my task filled afternoon into a beauty parlor, a photo booth and the most important hour of my week.
