When Your Girlie Gets Your Camera…

…play along!

The other day I got an unexpected reminder of how important it is to take time for the important things.

Things like trying on costume jewelry and admiring lacy shirts.

My three year old, Little Miss Colonel, got my camera as I was getting ready for the Inland Northwest Christian Writers Conference.

She picked my necklace.

Made me paint our toenails.

Took pictures of her feet while I was putting on my make up then got me to take pictures of both our feet.

I would have gone with boots and ratty toe nails if it weren’t for her.

Then we had to paint her fingers too and pose them on the sparkly tile mosaic in the entry way.

Who knew nail polish and camera could be so fun? That we could make such memories?

Just look at those dimpled fingers.

Edible!

And then, she turned the camera on me.

I’m laughing at how she’d turned my task filled afternoon into a beauty parlor, a photo booth and the most important hour of my week.

I sure enjoyed my day on the farm, in the studio, and in the kitchen. What a wonderful place to make memories and create unique heirlooms.
    Thank you for sharing……;-)

    1. It’s so incredibly different to have a girl. I”m overflowing with the newness of it. She cracks me up and has a unique piece of my heart for sure.

  2. I’m going to be so upset if you stop linking up these posts. I’m featuring this next week at Whimsy Wednesdays! I think we often get so busy with our lives that we forget to take the time for those little moments. Thank you so much for sharing this at Whimsy Wednesdays! Have a wonderful Easter!

    1. Thank you Jenny! Just keep bugging me then. I’m always a little self conscious among the beautiful crafts. :) But I’ll keep posting, for you my new friend.
