Mason Jar Light or the Redneck Chic’s Nightlight

Mason jar light. My sis is so smart. I grabbed a light kit from Hobby Lobby, a canning jar (jam size) and I swapped out the lid, but not the ring, with a piece of cardboard cut to size. I cut a nickle sized hole in the cardboard and put the light through it. You could certainly cut the metal lid but I wanted a quick solution!

So glad that Hobby Lobby had a reasonably priced light kit. It’s a dim bulb but just right for a night light.

I love that the chord has a toggle switch. Now I can read in bed! I’ve tried sticking a dot light to the bed but it’s a little difficult to get something flat to stick on logs!

I love how it looks. And yes, I admit Mason jars, log beds and pinwheel quilts are quite redneck.

What’s your style?

    LOL!! I love it!
Guess we could alsofigure out how to make some redneck candle wax warmers too.
How is your counter transformation project? I would love to see it – or pics? ;-)

We need the Scotch version of the Velcro. Tried an off brand because the store was out of the name brand and they fell off the wall. I have a couple set aside for you too. Will post pics when I get it done though for sure!

Candle wax warmers…I might have done that. lol

I love it! And you have such lovely, natural decor. I have somewhat of the same taste. If you look at my Pinterest page you’ll see lol. I can’t wait til I have my own house to decorate! :)

Yes, that will be fun! :) I still have a big old steam trunk my dad re-furbished for my birthday one year that I filled with stuff I wanted to decorate with. :) It’s my coffee table!

  3. Not redneck at all! Lovely!!!

Haha, well I’m not saying redneck is bad but I guess it does conjure up thoughts of mullets and cups with cow udders.

  4. Ya know, I have no idea what my style is. I like looking at others, but when it comes to decor it scares the snot out of me. I would love to do something bold and new but usually wimp out!

I lived so many years in houses we couldn’t paint or poke holes in the walls that I kinda went wild with our home now. Almost every wall is a different color. I had a designer er’ I mean paint swatches ;) help me pick a pallet and stayed with that throughout the house but varied. My favorite project ever is the cabinet door and shutter privacy screen in colors I thought I would hate. I just went for as crazy as possible and when it came together I love it! I need to take a better picture but it’s here and has been pinned a few times. You might like it. Crazy Shutters

  5. LOVE it!! LOVE it!! LOVE it!! I guess THAT is my style. :) You can call me redneck if you want, I like to say “Country”. :)

You are my kind of a blogger, one with a sense of humor! I love everything about this room…does that make me a redneck?

I do hope so but only if you like the sound of that. If not, we can say “eclectic chic”!

      Come on by sometime. :)
